Mark Myers

5th degree Black Belt - Isshin-ryu Karate
Mark began training in Shotokan karate at the age of 12 under Takiyuki Mikami who was two-time National champion of Japan. Mark competed and placed in local tournaments for several years. He then joined the Marine Corps in 1988 and trained with various close-combat instructors while in service. In 1992, he started training in Isshin-ryu karate. In 1996, himself along with his wife Sherry, opened a dojo in Hammond, LA. Since then, Mark has trained with different prominent martial artists such as Joe Lewis, Kathy Long and Don "the Dragon" Wilson. He is a traditional student under AJ Advincula and an Escrima student under Linde Belt. Mark has also been certified by the ACMA (American Council of Martial Arts) and is a fully-certified Krav Maga instructor with the Krav Maga National Training Center in Los Angeles, CA.

1988-89 Received certification in dance instruction. Taught children three to six years of age
