A. J. Advincula was born on January 25, 1938 in Juneau, Alaska. He currently resides in Oceanside, CA and travels around the country giving seminars on Isshin-ryu and other martial arts to both students and teachers.
For more than fifty years, A. J. Advincula has been studying, training, and teaching in escrima, combat judo, kobudo, goju-ryu, shorin-ryu, uechi-ryu, hindiandi gung-fu, just to name a few. December 1, 1998 marked his 40th anniversary studying and teaching Isshin-ryu karate.
